We are beyond excited to share some amazing news! The UnLocked Project is officially launching its very first semesterly scholarship to support UMD students impacted by familial incarceration. This milestone is made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Do Good Foundation, and we could not wait to get this opportunity into the hands of students who deserve it.
Each semester, four students will receive $200 to help with their college journey. While our grant provides the foundation for this scholarship, donations from our supporters are what make it sustainable. Your contributions help us increase award amounts, support more students, and ensure that this scholarship continues to grow year after year. Every bit counts toward helping our scholars succeed.
Applications are now open through September 25, 2025. Winners will be chosen by our Scholarship Committee and celebrated within the UnLocked Project community. While sharing their personal stories is optional, recipients are encouraged to engage with us so we can celebrate their achievements, connect with our scholars, and continue showing the impact of this program.
This scholarship is more than just financial support. It is a celebration of resilience, potential, and community. We are so proud to offer this opportunity and look forward to seeing the incredible students who apply.
